The weekly digest

One email a week that says who is waiting, which placements need a check-in or have gone quiet, and which signals started rising. Nothing if there is nothing.

What is in it

  • Yours comes first: the people waiting whom you follow up with. They aren't repeated in the list below.
  • May be drifting and carrying a lot: people you follow up with who have gone quiet with nothing holding them, or who serve in many places or nearly every week, each with the reasons. See Drifting and carrying a lot.
  • A placement of yours has gone quiet: someone you follow up with, or placed, who was serving and has stopped, or isn't serving yet a month on. Each is named once, when it changes, with how long ago they were placed.
  • Waiting to hear from you: people who shared their result with the pastoral team and nobody has walked through it with yet. Each line has their lead gifts, how long they have waited, who on the team already opened their result, and a next step. Anyone who pressed I'd like to try comes first, and their line says what they asked for and when ("They asked to try Hospitality on Oct 3: say yes."); everyone else follows, oldest first. Up to ten are named, with how many more are in EmmauOS; anyone who may be under 18 is counted, not named.
  • Placements: how many people placed over a month ago aren't serving yet.
  • Retakes: how many people have served steadily since a placement and took the assessment over a year ago. A retake would show what has grown.
  • Care: how many people may be drifting (and how many of them have nobody following up), and how many are carrying a lot. Counts only; who they are is on People.
  • Signals that moved: a watch that started rising since last week, one line each with the count and its step. Counts only; who they are is on Signals. A watch that is still rising isn't repeated.

If there is nobody waiting, no placement to check on, nothing gone quiet, no signal rising and none of your own people flagged, no email goes out that week. The church-wide care counts never send an email on their own.

Who gets it and when

By default it goes to owners, admins and pastors every Monday at 8:00 in your church's time zone. The last setup step asks which day your staff meeting is on and sets the digest to land just before it, in your browser's time zone. On Digest you can change the day and hour, choose the people, and turn it off. Each recipient is a member of your team; it never goes to a member of the congregation.

Send me a preview sends this week's digest to you now, so you can see it before the team does.

Who sees what

Pastors, admins and the owner can see and change the digest settings. A leader who is chosen as a recipient receives the whole digest, with the people they follow up with first. A leader who hasn't chosen either way, but follows up with someone who is waiting or flagged, gets a short version with only those people; a leader who turned the digest off gets nothing.
