Tracks

Belong, Become, Lead and any track you add, each as a short funnel. See where people are on every step, which step a track is stuck at, who has finished one track and not begun the next, and the names behind every number.

Tracks and Roles: finding your next group leaders 1:35

Tracks, under Pipeline, shows how people move along your whole pathway. Your pathway is made of tracks, each with its own stages and steps. The starter has three:

  • Belong: are they plugged in? Coming on Sundays, in a group, serving somewhere.
  • Become: are they being formed? Walking with someone, reading what your pastors suggest, keeping a rule of life.
  • Lead: are they using their gifts to lead? Walking with someone themselves, training, holding a role.

A church can add more, up to six, such as Sent. A person sits on every track at once, at one stage on each. Someone can be new to a group, growing fast in formation, and already leading a team. That is why Tracks draws one funnel per track rather than one.

How each track is moving

Each track has its own funnel: one numbered bar per step, as long as the share of the track's people who have passed it, with the count and percentage on it. At the end of each bar are the faces of who has that step next, the quiet ones first with a ring. Above the bars, one line says how the track is doing: Moving, or the step where it is Slowing or Stuck, by number and name, and how many there have been quiet for 90 days.

The last bar, Walked every step, counts the people who have done every step in the track. Click any step's faces to see who, by name. Names follow the same rules as everywhere else: someone who asked to be held back, or who is under 18, is counted but never named.

Not sure whether a word means the whole thing or one row? Pipeline, track, stage, step and role puts them side by side.

The funnel bars show this week. Under each track, a small 12-week chart shows how things have moved: one line for the people who walked every step, and a dotted one for the people who have gone quiet. Point at a week, or focus the chart and use the arrow keys, to read that week's numbers. The change since the first week on record reads green when it is good news (more finishing, fewer stuck) and red when it isn't. The chart covers the whole church, so it hides while you narrow to a ministry, group or stage. Each role has the same kind of chart under What it asks and the last few months. Where someone stands is worked out fresh from what EmmauOS can see, and that can't be replayed for a past week. So every night EmmauOS writes down the week's counts, never a name, and the chart reads them back. The current week is always live, so a chart's last point matches the page it sits on. A week with no record is a gap in the line, never a zero, and weeks with nothing to show are hatched and marked No data, so a church that starts this month sees its line begin this month.

Narrowing it down

  • Ministry. Pick a ministry to see only the people serving or placed there. A ministry leader only ever sees their own ministries; the choice lists only those.
  • Group and stage. Narrow to one group, or to the people at one stage of any track, such as everyone at Serve on Belong. At stage lists each track's stages under its name.
  • Saved views. Save what you're looking at, such as "Stuck before leading" or "Kids volunteers still in Belong", and it comes back as a pill at the top of the page. Each person keeps up to eight. They are yours; nobody else on the team sees them.

Your words, not ours

Belong, Become and Lead are the defaults. An admin can rename each track, or add one on Settings → Pathway setup, for example to Assimilation, Discipleship and Leadership, and change the question it asks. The new names are used everywhere: this page, My Path, roles, Planning Center fields and AI agents.

Who sees what

  • Pastors, admins and owners see the whole church.
  • Ministry leaders see the people in the ministries they look after.
  • Viewers see the counts only, and a count under three reads "fewer than 3" so it can't point at someone. A funnel bar draws them as a sliver, and a role's chart leaves those weeks as gaps.

Nothing on this page is shown to the people in it. In My Path a person sees their own next step in each track, never a count, a column or a word like "stuck".

On the Overview

Pastors, admins, owners and ministry leaders also see the roles most short of people and a compact funnel for each track on the Overview, and every mark there opens the same lists. A ministry leader sees only their own ministries there too, and so no whole-church chart.

Where the steps come from

The steps in each funnel are the steps on that track. Admins arrange them on Settings → Pathway setup, one track at a time; see Editing your pathway. The link at the foot of the funnels goes there.

Where to go next

To map the steps your church already has onto tracks and stages, see Fitting the pipeline to your church. Tracks shows where people are. Roles shows where you need them, and who is close: start there to fill a role.
