Follow-up statuses
The four statuses a result moves through, what sets each one, and the rule that decides who is waiting for a first look.

Every result has one status. It moves forward when someone on the team does something, not when they remember to change a dropdown.
| Status | Means | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| New | Nobody on the team has looked | Finishing the assessment |
| Reviewed | Someone read it | Mark walked through, or the same person opening it again later, or printing its guide |
| Followed up | A conversation has been logged | Log a conversation |
| Placed | They are serving, or trying a team | Place them |
A result moves from new to reviewed on its own when one leader or above has plainly read it: they opened it, came back to it at least 10 minutes later, or printed its Conversation Guide. A quick reload doesn't count, and nothing is written to the person's log: walked through and conversation are only ever what someone on the team said they did. Nothing but new moves this way.
You can also set a status directly from the People list, alone or for several people at once, when the real-world step happened somewhere EmmauOS didn't see.
Who is waiting
Needs a first look on the Overview isn't simply "status is new". A person is waiting when their newest result is new, nobody has logged a conversation or placed them, and none of their earlier results was ever opened either. Someone who retakes the assessment 2 years after you placed them doesn't go back to the top of the queue; their new result sits on their timeline for whoever follows up with them.
Who follows up
Any result can be given to one leader or above on the team. It shows on that person's Overview and in their section of the weekly digest, and the People list can be filtered to mine. Choosing who follows up doesn't change the status.
When you place someone nobody follows up with yet, on a ministry exactly one person on your team looks after, that person now follows up with them. EmmauOS never replaces someone already chosen, and doesn't pick anyone for a new result: that stays your call.
When a person retakes
EmmauOS suggests asking when it would help: someone who has served steadily since a placement, with a result a year old or more, gets a line on their result page (see Placements). Nobody is asked by EmmauOS.
A new result starts at new and the older one keeps its status, so the timeline on the person's page tells the whole story: taken in 2024, placed on the welcome team, retaken in 2026 with Teaching now in the lead band.
