# EmmauOS vs Pastor Center spiritual gifts test

> Pastor Center's spiritual gifts test is 112 questions, 74 of them across 24 gifts and 38 for DISC, and reports a person's "top five gifts" with Scripture references plus a DISC breakdown; churches pay from $49.99 a month (Basic) to $79.99 (Advanced, with AI matching) and $99.99 (Premium, with Planning Center), with a 7-day trial, and can turn gifts off and edit definitions. EmmauOS is free for 50 people and $40 a month for 150, takes 10 to 15 minutes on a phone with no account, is written against the published research, shows bands with the margin drawn, syncs Planning Center both ways on every paid plan, and runs the follow-up as a list with the person's words, consent and a 90-day check, with an AI assistant that works the list and never scores anyone. Pick Pastor Center for a long editable test with DISC; pick EmmauOS for a short honest test and the conversation after.

## The test itself

Pastor Center's test is long by design: 24 gifts with about three items each, plus a full DISC section, and a church can switch off gifts it doesn't teach (the sign gifts, for instance) and rewrite definitions. A church that wants personality and gifts in one report, in its own words, gets that here.

EmmauOS measures nine gifts with 5 statements each, about 60 in all, in 10 to 15 minutes on a phone with no account, app or email. The statements describe what has happened in the past year rather than self-image, because the research on self-report says people answer "what happened" more honestly than "what I am like". 5 statements per gift gives each a score out of 25, which is enough to tell gifts apart; three items per gift, as Pastor Center's 74 items across 24 gifts works out to, gives less. The papers behind each choice are on [why we ask what we ask](/why-we-ask-what-we-ask). We didn't find a research page on Pastor Center's site in October 2026.

## How results are shown

Pastor Center reports a "top five gifts". EmmauOS shows bands: every gift within 3 points of the highest is in the lead band, the next gift within 2 points is "at the edge", and inside a band gifts sit in Romans 12 order so no ranking can be recovered. A gift score from a few items is honest to about 2 points either way, so EmmauOS doesn't print a fifth place.

## What the team gets after

Pastor Center gives a dashboard on every tier, AI matching on Advanced, and Planning Center on Premium.

EmmauOS's follow-up list is on every plan including the free one. Each result arrives with the person's own words and consent, next to the serving teams that need those gifts; a person can send their bands to two friends who say whether they ring true. A leader logs the conversation, places the person, and gets a 90-day check on whether it took, which on Planning Center churches looks at whether the person was actually scheduled. Leaders see only their own ministries; a weekly digest lists who is waiting; signals and insights show what is arriving and how the church's gifts are shifting.

## AI

Pastor Center's AI matches people to ministries. EmmauOS's AI never scores a person and never writes anything a member sees, and is used for everything else. Connect Claude or any assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol, scoped to a role and expiring, and ask who is waiting, log a conversation, place someone or walk through setup; it never contacts a member. Hand EmmauOS your website and it offers your colors, logo, city, ministries and serving teams. Photograph a bookshelf and it fills your resources. Add your own key for a staff-only brief. None of that appears on Pastor Center's page as of October 2026, and none of it is tied to a tier.

## Price

Pastor Center starts at $49.99 a month, which is about $600 a year, and reaches $99.99 a month for Planning Center. EmmauOS is free for 50 people, $40 a month for 150 and $60 a month for 500, with Planning Center, the AI assistant and leaders included. A church of 150 pays EmmauOS less than Pastor Center's Basic tier and gets what Pastor Center sells on Premium. Pastor Center's page shows monthly prices only; if an annual rate exists it wasn't on the page we read.

## Who should choose Pastor Center

- A church that wants a 24-gift list it can edit, with the sign gifts switchable.
- A church that wants DISC in the same report.
- A church that wants AI matching.
- A church that wants a 7-day trial of a paid tier before deciding.

## Who should choose EmmauOS

- A church that wants a 10–15 minute phone test people finish, with the research published.
- A church that wants results as bands with the margin drawn, never a "top five".
- A church that wants Planning Center both ways and a follow-up list on its first plan.
- A church that wants an AI assistant doing the clerical work and never judging its people.
- A church that wants a published privacy list and its own subdomain.
- A church of 50 or fewer that wants to start free with no card.

## Switching

Run both until the trial ends. Create your church (free, no card), give EmmauOS your website so it offers your colors and ministries, connect Planning Center, and put the new link and QR code in the bulletin. Earlier scores from another tool import from a spreadsheet on every paid plan, as their own assessment beside the gifts result. EmmauOS writes to Planning Center fields you choose, so anything another tool wrote is left alone.

### Does EmmauOS let a church turn gifts off or rewrite definitions?

On the Free and Small plans the nine gifts are fixed so every result means the same thing. The Growing plan adds a builder for a church's own statements, so a church can run its own instrument. Scores from another test import on every paid plan. Pastor Center lets a church toggle gifts and edit definitions on its paid plans.

### Does EmmauOS include Planning Center on every paid plan?

On every paid plan, from $40 a month. EmmauOS matches people by email and then by name, writes gift band names, Ephesians 4 leanings and the date to fields you choose, pulls your teams in from Services and People, and checks a month after a placement whether the person got scheduled. Pastor Center lists Planning Center on its Premium tier.

### Does EmmauOS use AI?

Yes, and more widely than most: an assistant that works the follow-up list over the Model Context Protocol, a reader for your website, a bookshelf from a photo, and an optional staff-only brief on your own key. The one thing it never does is score or rank a person. Pastor Center's AI, as its page describes it, matches people to ministries.
